One evening, many friends came over to my house to watch an important baseball game. It was the last game of the championships1, and we were all
rooting for the Elephants. Everyone was
cheering and shouting throughout the
close game. After eight and a half innings2, the scores were still
tied at two and two.
My friends and I were really nervous, because we
eagerly wanted the Elephants to win. All eyes were on the TV when suddenly, the screen became black. My TV broke at the most exciting moment of the game.
Because there was only one TV in my house, I quickly took out my radio and tried to find the baseball station. As soon as I did, we heard, "They won! They won! The Elephants won three to two." We were so happy that some of us even
hugged each other.
某個傍晚，許多朋友為了觀看一場重要的棒球比賽而來到我家。那是冠軍賽的最後一場，而我們都是幫象隊加油的。一整場難分軒輊的比賽下來，我們都在大聲地歡呼吶喊。經過了八局半的比賽後，比分仍然停留在二比二的平手局面。
我和我的朋友都緊張不已，因為我們非常渴望象隊能贏得比賽。所有人的目光都聚集在電視上之時，螢幕突然在一瞬間變黑。我的電視竟在比賽最刺激的一刻壞掉了。
因為我家裡只有一台電視，所以我趕緊拿出我的收音機，試圖找到轉播棒球的電台。當我一轉到時，我們就聽到：『贏了！贏了！象隊以三比二贏了。』我們真是開心極了，有些人甚至還抱在一起呢。
