overboard是「非常投入的」，go overboard這個片語是「走極端；熱中於……」的意思，a little「一點點」用來修飾語氣，表示有點過火有不會太過火。
A: I can't believe Jane wore that costume to work?
我不敢相信小珍穿那種服裝來上班？
B: I know. She went a little overboard with the red hat, socks and gloves.
我知道。她身上的紅帽子、襪子和手套是有點過分。

Amy: Look at my suitcase! I went a little overboard shopping in the US. I had to buy another bag just for my 1)toiletries.
Eric: My goodness. How much stuff does one girl need? There must be fifty bottles in here!
Amy: Well, I discovered CVS, it's a 2)pharmacy slash 2)drugstore. But I just bought everyday things that you shouldn't be without.
Eric: I wouldn't even know where to start. And I'm a gay man – shame on me!
Amy: Well, I started with the 3)obvious. [Smiles] See my teeth? They're sensitive and 4)stained. This toothpaste is for sensitive teeth. My teeth are really sensitive to cold. And it's 5)whitening, too.
Eric: Fancy. I have just been using "Blackie" for years.
Amy: Ha-ha. I love the light, minty flavor of this one. Taste it. [Eric tastes a bit]
Eric: Wow. That is nice. What else is there?
Amy: The 6)sonic toothbrush. This didn't come cheap. It cleans deep and thoroughly with 6)supersonic action, much better than a traditional toothbrush.
愛咪：你看我的手提箱！我在美國買東西買過頭了點。我得再買一個包包裝我的梳妝用品。
艾瑞克：天啊。一個女孩到底需要多少東西？這兒起碼有五十隻瓶子吧！
愛咪：呵，我看到一家CVS，那是一家藥局兼藥妝店。但我買的都是日常生活不可或缺的東西啊。
艾瑞克：我甚至不知道該從什麼開始買。我還是男同志呢──真是丟臉！
愛咪：呵，我從最明顯的開始。（笑）看到我的牙齒了嗎？他們又敏感又黃黃的。這支牙膏是敏感牙齒專用的。我的牙齒對冷特別敏感。而且它也有潔白功效。
艾瑞克：真炫。我多年來一直只用「黑人牙膏」。
愛咪：哈哈，我喜歡這支淡淡的薄荷香味。嚐嚐看。（艾瑞克嚐了一點）
艾瑞克：哇，真不賴。還有什麼？
愛咪：音波牙刷。這不便宜呢。它能用超音波深層徹底潔牙，比傳統牙刷好太多了。
艾瑞克：我不知道連刷牙都可以這麼高科技。

Day Two
Amy: And here's the 1)star product of my trip – the famous and 2)coveted Boots no. 7 cream.
Eric: GET OUT! The holy grail of skincare? The one that's sold out all over Europe and Asia? How did you get your hands on that?
Amy: I guess people in the US haven't caught on yet. Look - they make some pretty amazing 3)claims.
Eric: 4)Reduced pore size and wrinkles in only four weeks? No way!
Amy: Just read the label. It's got *pro-retinol and *peptides in it. Those are both anti-aging.
Eric: Most of these 5)ingredients are long, 6)unpronounceable names.
Amy: Ha-ha. Just make sure the key ingredients don't come at the end of the list, because that means there's not much of that ingredient in it.
第二天
愛咪：這是我這次旅途中的明星商品──鼎鼎大名、人人夢寐以求的Boots七號精華霜。
艾瑞克：不可能！是那個肌膚保養聖品嗎？歐洲和亞洲都賣完的那個？妳怎麼可能買得到？
愛咪：我想那在美國還不流行吧。你看，他們有一些好驚人的聲明耶。
艾瑞克：四星期縮小毛細孔、淡化皺紋？門都沒有！
愛咪：看看這它的標籤。它含有強化維他命源A和肽。這兩種成分都能抗老化。
艾瑞克：這些成分的名字都又臭又長，不曉得怎麼發音。
愛咪：哈哈。只要確定關鍵成分不是掛車尾就好，因為排愈後面表示含量愈低。
艾瑞克：但我有敏感性肌膚。
愛咪：你沒看到這個嗎？所有Boots的產品都是低敏感性的。我買了其中五種精華液，因為它們比一般乳霜更能深入肌膚。
