At an afternoon tea
Mei: Thanks for coming to test it out. See? These places exist in the US.
Brad: This is fancy… but if you look around, there are only older ladies and very rich people here.
Mei: Just go to the 1)buffet and fill your plate. Relax!
Brad: I'm back. These deserts are 2)amazing. They all look like little pieces of art. And there are so many I've never seen before.
Mei: Exactly. See… you're in heaven. I want to make that possible for the average American.
Brad: And this tea… it's really good. I never knew tea could taste so good. But it's a little too fancy for me.
Mei: That's why I need you. I need you to help me 3)modify everything.
Brad: So I'm your 4)guinea pig!
Mei: That's right. But I'll pay you, don't worry. That is, if you want to be a part of this.
在一家下午茶餐廳裡
玫 ：謝謝你來親身試驗。看到了嗎？美國也有這種地方。
布萊德：真炫……可是如果四處看看，這裡只有老太太和有錢人。
玫 ：去自助吧把盤子裝滿就是了。放輕鬆啦！
布萊德：我回來了。這些甜點真吸引人，看起來就像小件藝術作品一樣。而且有好多是我沒見過的。
玫 ：沒錯。看吧……你可是置身天堂呢。我想要為美國ㄧ般大眾創造這一類的地方。
布萊德：還有這茶……真的很好喝。我從不知道茶可以這麼可口。但這對我來說太高級了點。
玫 ：這就是我需要你的原因。我需要你幫我修正所有細節。
布萊德：所以我是妳的白老鼠！
玫 ：沒錯。但我會付酬勞給你的，別擔心。就看你想不想加入囉。 |
