(★ 聽新聞播報) 入門對話【Dialogue 1】 On the Airplane #3(在飛機上-PART III) After the meal, Mike was ready to take a good nap when the plane encountered air turbulence... Mike:Now that the flight attendant is gone, I can finally get some shut-eye. Vicky:Did you just feel that? It felt like the plane dropped. Mike:Don't worry. We just passed through an air pocket. It happens all the time. Vicky:There! I just felt it again! I'm terribly afraid of flying. Would you mind if I held your hand? Mike:Umm…I don't think that's such a good idea. I wouldn't feel comfortable holding the hand of a perfect stranger. I'm sorry, why don't you ask that man on your right. Vicky:You mean my mother! You know, I was thinking about how to get your attention since the airplane took off; but now that I know the kind of person you are, I'm glad we won't be seeing each other after we land. You know, you're a real jerk! 1. It felt like the plane dropped.(飛機好像要掉下去了!) 例如: It feels like rain.(好像要下雨了。) It felt like he killed somebody.(他好像殺了人似的。) 2. Would you mind if I held your hand?(你介意我握住你的手嗎?) Would you mind opening the window?(你介意把打開窗戶嗎?) Would you mind me / my opening the window?(你介意我把窗戶打開嗎?) Would you mind if I opened the window?(你介意我把窗戶打開嗎?)
進階對話【Dialogue 2】 Traveling by Train(搭火車旅行) Mike and Vicky are travelers from the States. They arrived at Taipei Main Station. Vicky:Oh no, look at all the people queuing to buy train tickets! We'll be waiting here all afternoon. I told you we should have reserved our tickets online! Mike:Well, it's too late for "I told you so," because we're already here. Anyhow, now we have time to figure out the best route, we can use this train schedule I brought along. Vicky:Hey, I have a good idea. Why don't we make a game out of it? I can pretend that I'm the damsel in distress, and you're the young handsome ticket clerk who has come to my rescue, my knight in shining armor so to speak. Mike:That sounds like fun. I'll go first. "Does there seem to be a problem ma'am?" Vicky:"Oh yes, I just can't understand this train schedule. There are just so many numbers and letters on it. Could you help me? I'd make it worth your while." Mike:"Oh that's not necessary ma'am. It's my job after all; in fact, company policy forbids accepting any gratuity from customers. Which train would you like to take?" Vicky:"I'd like to take a blue one. You see, it'll match this outfit I'm wearing. Do you like it?" Mike:"Yes that's quite a nice miniskirt you have on. But you do realize that the blue train is the slowest train, don't you? Well, in any case, do you know where you are going?" Vicky:"I want to go to Kenting, but I just can't seem to figure out how to get there by train." Mike:"Well, that's because there isn't a train station in Kenting. However, you can go to Pingdong station instead, which is the last stop, and then transfer onto a bus headed there." Vicky:"Perhaps, you could go with me and show me the way?" Mike:"It would be my pleasure. First, we'll need to buy our tickets, and then we have to be at gate 3A by 2p.m. So, we have just enough time for lunch before we go …" 3. It's too late for "I told you so."(現在說「我已經告訴你」已經太晚了。) The coverage of political corruption reminded me of "Money talks."(這個政治貪汙的報導讓我想起「有錢能使鬼推磨」。) After seeing this movie, I kept thinking about "Love conquers all."(看完這部電影,我一直在想「愛能戰勝一切」。) 4. I just can't seem to figure out how to get there by train.(我好像找不出要怎麼搭火車去那裡。) I seem to have left my wallet at home.(我好像把皮夾留在家裡了。) I can't seem to find my credit card.(我好像找不到我的信用卡。) | |
