Situation: In the home-stay family（在寄宿家庭裡）
Vicky went to her home-stay family in the States. Her home-stay Papa, Kevin, welcomed her.
Kevin：Hello, Vicky. It's nice to meet you at last. We've waited so long for you.
Kevin：哈囉，Vicky。太好了，總算是見到妳了。我們等妳等了好久了！
Vicky：Hello, Mr. Becker. I'm so glad to be here. Thank you for letting me stay in your home.
Vicky：你好，Becker 先生。我很高興能來到這裡。謝謝你讓我待在你家裡。
Kevin：It's our pleasure, and please call me Kevin. Come in and let me help you with your bags.
Kevin：這是我們的榮幸，請叫我 Kevin 就好。進來吧，我幫妳拿這些袋子。
Vicky：Oh, your house is so big and beautiful! The houses in Taiwan are not usually this large!
Vicky：哇，你的房子又大又漂亮。在台灣的房子通常沒有這麼大。
Kevin：Well, it's not so big. This is an average sized home around here. Let me show you. Over there is the living room and the dining room. Upstairs to the left is my room and to the right are the kid's rooms. Your room is here next to the kitchen.
Kevin：沒有很大啦！在這一帶，這只是一般大小的房子而己。讓我帶妳看一看吧！那邊是客廳和飯廳。樓上左邊是我的臥室，而右邊是小朋友的房間。妳的房間在就在這裡，廚房旁邊。
Vicky：Wow! My room is huge. Thank you so much! On the shelf over there, is that a picture of your family?
Vicky：哇，我的房間也太大了吧！太謝謝你了！那架子上面是你們的全家福照片嗎？
Kevin：Yes, that's us on vacation last year. That's me and my wife Betty, and those are my kids. This is Jill; she's 14. And this is Mark; he's 16. They'll be home around 6 o'clock for dinner.
Kevin：沒錯，那是去年我們度假時拍的。那是我和我老婆 Betty，還有他們是我的小孩。這是 Jill，她十四歲。而這是 Mark，他十六歲。他們大概六點就會回家吃晚餐了。
Vicky：I can't wait to meet them in person. Is dinner usually at 6pm?
Vicky：我等不及看到他們本人了。晚餐通常是六點開始嗎？
Kevin：Yes. During the week, our schedule is always the same. We get up for breakfast around 7 o'clock. The kids and I all leave the house before 8:30, and my wife leaves around 9:30. And then we're all back here at 6 o'clock for dinner. By the way, is there anything special you like to eat for breakfast and dinner?
Kevin：沒錯，週一到週五，我們的作息時間都是固定的。我們大約七點起床吃早餐。小孩和我在八點三十分以前出門；我老婆大概九點三十分出門。然後我們大家都會在六點鐘回家吃晚飯。對了，你的早餐和晚餐有什麼特別要吃的東西嗎？
Vicky：Oh, anything will be fine! At breakfast I like to eat fruit and cereal. I prefer a light meal in the morning. For dinner, whatever you have will be great, but my favorite food is pizza!
Vicky：哦，什麼都行！早餐我喜歡吃水果和麥片。早上我喜歡吃得清淡一點。至於晚餐，你們有什麼吃的都好，不過我最愛的食物是比薩。
Kevin：Well, I'll make sure you get what you want. Remember, this is your home, too. So don't be shy!
Kevin：好，我會盡量達到妳的需求。記得，這也是妳的家，所以不要不好意思喔！
主題相關實用句型：
1. 某人 + 動詞 + around + 時刻（某人大約會在某時...做...）
例：We get up for breakfast around 7 o'clock.（我們大約在七點起床吃早餐。）
說明：around 是「大約」的意思，若要敘述這樣的句型時，在英文的表達裡須先說明所做的事，再說明所做的時間。例：
My wife leaves around 9:30.（我老婆大概在九點半出門。）
2. 某人 + prefer + 食物名稱 + in the morning/ evening（某人早餐╱晚餐喜歡吃...）
例：I prefer a light meal in the morning.（我早上喜歡吃得清淡一點。）
說明：prefer 是「較喜歡」的意思，"in the morning/ evening" 則是以「在早上」、「在晚上」代表「早餐」、「晚餐」。例：
I prefer rice in the evening.（我晚餐比較想吃米飯。）

Situation: At a Job-Hunting Fair（在就業博覽會裡）
Kevin, an American, was participating in a job-hunting fair and inquiring two companies of their wanted position.
Kevin：Hello, my name is Kevin Becker. Can you please tell me where I can submit my resume for the international sales position?
Kevin：妳好，我叫做 Kevin Becker。妳可以告訴我在哪裡可以投國際業務的履歷表嗎？
Vicky：Hello, My name is Ms Huang. You may leave that here with me. Thank you. Do you have any experience in this particular field?
Vicky：你好，我姓黃。你可以把履歷表交給我，謝謝。你在這方面有任何經驗嗎？
Kevin：Yes, I do. I graduated from MIT with a Chemical Engineering degree. I have been working with US Chemical Co. for the past 12 years as their national sales director.
Kevin：有。我從麻省理工學院拿到化學工程學位畢業。過去十二年我在「美國化學公司」工作，擔任國內業務主管。
Vicky：US Chemical is a giant in this industry. Why would you want to leave such a prestigious position?

Kevin：US Chem. is a great company, but I'm interested in the expanding Asian market. I know your company will be opening operations in Taiwan soon and I would like to explore the possibilities.

Vicky：You are correct. Our Taipei offices will be opening soon and we have a few positions available. I'll submit your resume to the human resources department and they will get back to you in a few days.
Vicky：沒錯，我們台北的辦公室就要開始營運，而我們也有些職缺。我會把你的履歷表交給人資部門，他們過幾天會給你答覆。
Kevin：Thank you very much and have a nice afternoon. I look forward to hearing from your office.

例：I would like to submit my resume for the Pan Asian sales position you have available.（我想投你們的亞洲地區業務履歷。）
說明：resume 是「履歷」，「投履歷」的動詞通常使用 submit 來表達。其後「針對...的職位」這介系詞則是使用 for。例：
I would like to submit my resume for the sales representative you provide.（我想投你們的業務代表履歷。）
2. I know your company will + 動詞...+ and I would like to + 動詞...（我知道貴公司將要...，而我也想要...。）
