Mark and Mindy are close friends. They are enjoying a peaceful walk in the park.

Mindy：Look at how beautiful these trees are! It feels so peaceful here.

Mark：I love coming here, especially with you Mindy. I feel like we've grown really close over the years.
Mark：我喜歡來這裡，特別是和你 Mindy。我感覺這些年來，我們的距離變得很近。
Mindy：I feel the same way, and I feel safe when I'm with you.

Mark：I'm glad to hear you say that, but there's something I need to tell you. I love you Mindy.

| "Dialogue 1" 相關實用句型： | 1. Why didn't you say anything sooner?
（你為什麼不早點說呢？）
這句話通常用來表示「可惜」之意，目的是告訴對方「本來應該怎麼做」。類似語句有：
Why didn't you tell me earlier?
You should have said that sooner / earlier? | 2. I really value our friendship, and I didn't want to blow it.
（我真的珍惜我們的友誼，且我不想把它搞砸了。）
這裡的動詞 value 表「重視╱珍惜」，也可以用 cherish 取代。動詞 blow 原本是「吹（垮）」的意思，其後的 it 是指 "our friendship"，因此這裡的 "blow it" 就是指搞砸了彼此間的友誼。 |

【進階對話 Dialogue 2】A Tough Problem before Marriage（婚前難題）
Tom and Mary are meeting in a coffee shop to discuss their marriage plans.
Tom 和 Mary 在咖啡廳見面，談論他們的婚姻計劃。
Tom：Hi Mary! I hope I'm not late.
Tom：嗨，Mary！我希望我沒遲到。
Mary：Not at all, I just got here myself. How was your day?
Mary：完全沒有啊！我自己也才剛到。你今天過得怎麼樣？
Tom：To tell you the truth, it's been pretty stressful. Between my job, my home life, and planning this wedding, I feel like I'm being pulled in a hundred different directions at once.
Tom：老實說，壓力挺大的。在工作、家庭生活、計劃婚禮之中，我感覺我同時被好多隻手拉著。
Mary：That's too bad. You know you can always count on me for support.
Mary：那真是糟糕。你知道，我總是可以給你支持的。
Tom：I know, and you really are my rock. I feel like you, along with my mom, are the only things that keep me going.
Tom：我知道，你真的是我的靠山。我覺得你 ─ 和我的母親，都是讓我前進的唯一動力。
Mary：Oh no, not this again. Can't we leave your mom out of this? I told you that when we get married we have to get our own home. A place where it can be just the two of us, away from everything.

Mary：Wow, I guess I never realized how important this was for you. I really wanted a place of our own, but if it means that much to you, I suppose we could move in with your mother.

此句的動詞時態為「進行式的被動語態」，表示一種即時感，"am being pulled" 是「正被拉著」
