Jeff and Sandra are still at the bar. Jeff is trying to work up the courage to ask for a second date.
Jeff 和 Sandra 還在酒裡。Jeff 正設法鼓起勇氣，要求下次的約會。
Jeff：So, how's your drink?
喂，你的酒好喝嗎？
Sandra：It's ok, but I'm not sure that this bartender knows what he's doing. I asked for a vodka martini, and he gave me one with gin.

Jeff：I know what you mean. I can't stand it when bartenders mix up their orders.

Sandra：I really need to find a better bar to go to in this city. Somewhere where the drinks are not too expensive and the bartenders are competent.

Jeff：Well, I actually know a really great bar that's just like that.

Sandra：Really? Can you tell me where it is?

"Dialogue 1" 相關實用句型：
1. I can't stand it when bartenders mix up their orders.
（我不能忍受酒保搞混了客人點的東西。）
這裡的代名詞 it 其實指的就是 "bartenders mix up their orders" 這件事。動詞片語 "mix up" 意思是「將... 搞混」，而 mix-up 為名詞的形式，意思是「瞎攪和」、「亂七八糟」或「混合物」。例如：

Jill is also preparing for her blind date. She has decided to consult a fortune-teller to see what her date will be like.
Jill 也在為她的相親作準備。她已決定去請教算命仙，算算她的相親對象會是怎樣的人。
Jill：Hi, I'm not sure I'm in the right place. Is this 1015 Civic road?
嗨，我不確定我是不是來對地方。這裡是市民路 1015 號嗎？
Fortune Teller：Yes it is. I hope you're the plumber.
是的，沒錯。我希望你是個水管工人。
Jill：No, I was hoping to have my fortune told.
不，我是來算命的。
Fortune Teller：Ahh... Come in, come in. You've come to the right place. I'm sorry about the mess. These pipes won't stop leaking. It was such a mistake for me to have bought this place.
喔... 請進，請進。你來對地方了。抱歉，這裡有點混亂。這些管子會一直滴漏。我買到這地方真是個錯。
Jill：Wait, you can tell the future, but you didn't know that this building was going to have plumbing problems?

Fortune Teller：Uhhh... Well – I can only see the futures of people. Not the futures of buildings. Hmm... I sense you have come about a relative of yours.

"Dialogue 2" 相關實用句型：
2. I was curious about a date I'm about to go on.
（我對於我即將赴約的對象感到好奇。）
「對... 好奇」可以用 "be curious about..." 表示。
"be about to-V" 等於 "be going to..."，表「即將...」。"go on a date" 是「去赴約」的意思。因此這裡的 "I'm about to go on" 是一個修飾 "a date" 的形容詞子句。
3. I foresee that things will work out much better.
（我可以預見一切事情將會進行順利。）
動詞 foresee 是由字首 fore-（表 before）與 see 組成，所以是「預先看見」之意。
"things will work out" 表示「事情終將解決」。"work out" 可為及物或不及物動詞片語，在此為「不及物」，表示「有好結果」、「進展順利」。例如：
I hope the relationship will work out soon.
我希望這段關係很快會有好的結果。
4. No way! I think you're just a con artist.
(想都別想！我認為你只是個騙子。）
我們經常會用 "No way!"、"By no means!" 等取代 No!，強烈表達「不要」或「不可能」之意。
con 為形容詞，表示「假的」、「欺騙的」，"con artist" 原意為「假藝人」，在對話中指的就是那位算命仙，因此在此直譯為「騙子」。
