Situation: In an Interview for University Admission（大學推甄面試）
Michael is a professor, and Vicky is an applicant for the English Department.
Michael：Nice to meet you. So can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Michael：幸會。那麼可以請你稍微自我介紹一下嗎？
Vicky：Sure. My name is Vicky. I'm studying in English DNA high school. I've been doing well and I've received quite a few awards in school. I also took part in several student associations and got elected president several times.
Vicky：當然。我叫 Vicky。我正在 English DNA 高中就讀。我在學校表現得不錯，而且我得過不少獎狀。此外，我參與過很多學生社團 ，也曾經多次被推選為社長。
Michael：Can you tell me why you want to apply to our university?
Michael：也請告訴我為什麼你想要申請我們學校呢？
Vicky：I've applied for here because you have the best English Department, and I believe you have the best professors here.
Vicky：我會申請這裡是因為你們英文系是最好的，而且我相信你們這裡擁有最優秀的教授。
Michael：I appreciate your compliment. But after your high school studies, why have you decided to focus on English?
Michael：感謝你的讚美。但在你完成高中學業後，為什麼你會決定攻讀英文呢？
Vicky：Well, simply speaking, I love English! Of all the subjects, I feel most interested in English, and I would like to be an English teacher in the future.
Vicky：嗯，簡單地說，我愛英文！在所有的科目中，我對英文最有興趣，而且未來我想當一位英文老師。
Michael：That's nice. Then what do you have in mind for your university research?
Michael：不錯。那麼對於大學的研究你有什麼想法嗎？
Vicky：Reading is my favorite hobby, so I would like to study literature, especially literary criticism.
Vicky：閱讀是我最喜愛的嗜好，所以我想念文學，尤其是文學批評。
Michael：So you will go to graduate school after university?
Michael：所以你大學畢業後將會唸研究所囉？
Vicky：It's very likely. And I hope to study in the United States and to sample a different lifestyle.
Vicky：很有可能。而且我希望能去美國唸書並且體驗不同的生活。
主題相關實用句型：
1. I would like / I'd like to apply for / to ...（我想要申請 ...。）
例：I'd like to apply to the English Department.（我想要申請英文系。）
說明："apply to / for"（申請）是很實用的片語，無論是大學推甄或是畢業後找工作都會用到。"apply for" 後面接要申請的事物或應徵的工作職位，而 "apply to" 後面則接申請的公司機關或學校名稱。例：
1) I'd like to apply for a grant.（我想要申請獎學金。）
2) She has applied to the assurance company.（她去應徵那家保險公司。）
2. I feel / am interested in ...（我對 ... 感興趣。）
例：I'm interested in politics.（我對政治有興趣。）
說明：介紹自己的時候，談到自己的興趣是很重要的，因為如果對方和你有相同的興趣，就可以引發互動的對話，而不是只有你一個人在講。interest 也可以當名詞，例：
1) Do you have interest in ...?（你對 ... 有興趣嗎？）
2) I have no interest in ...（我對 ... 沒興趣。）

Situation: Interview for Applying for a Job（應徵工作面試對話）
Vicky is having a job interview in a company. （Vicky 正在一間公司進行面試）
Michael：How are you, Miss Huang?
Michael：黃小姐，您好嗎？
Vicky：I'm fine, thank you. How about you?
Vicky：我很好，謝謝您。您呢？
Michael：Good, thanks. Now, please tell me about yourself.
Michael：很好，謝謝。現在，請您介紹一下自己。
Vicky：I graduated from the Department of Administration in Chung Hsing University. During those years, I also took some conversation courses in a language school. After I graduated, I spent two years as an assistant in the foreign sales department in a computer company.
Vicky：我從中興大學的行政管理學系畢業。大學期間，我也在一間語言學校修過一些會話課程。畢業後，我在一間電腦公司的國外業務部門擔任助理兩年。
Michael：How would you describe your personality?
Michael：您如何描述您的個性呢？
Vicky：I am willing to make friends with people, and I like to know what they need and help solve their problems. In all, I'm not shy talking to people.
Vicky：我樂於交朋友，而且我喜歡知道他們需要什麼，並且幫助解決他們的問題。總而言之，我不會羞於和人溝通。
Michael：What's your expectation towards this job?
Michael：您對這份工作有什麼期待呢？
Vicky：Except for the enriching work experience and the salary, I also expect to learn more about other countries with their culture and their attitude towards life. I like the feeling of sitting in the office and being able to make friends with people of different countries.
Vicky：除了增加工作經驗和薪資，我也期待能學到更多關於其他國家的文化和他們對生活的態度。我喜歡這種坐在辦公室而能和不同國家的人做朋友的感覺。
Michael：Are you willing to work overtime about three times a week and also on the weekend sometimes?
Michael：您願意一個禮拜大約加班三次，而且有時週末也要加班嗎？
Vicky：Since I am young and have no family, I want to take every chance to learn and contribute myself in any way I can.
Vicky：因為我還年輕，而且沒有家庭負擔，我想抓住每個機會來學習，並盡可能地以任何方式貢獻自己。
Michael：Good. But if you happen to have some problems and you find no one in our department to help you right then, what will you do?
Michael：很好。但如果您剛好遇到一些問題，而您發現當時在我們的部門裡沒有人可以幫助您時，您會怎麼做呢？
Vicky：If it is a problem from our customer with our product, I will try to consult our engineer. If I can not find help from them, I will try to read the manual to help solve the problem.
Vicky：如果這是顧客對我們的產品的問題，我會試著去請教我們的工程師。如果我無法從他們那裡得到幫助，我會試著去閱讀使用手冊來幫忙解決這個問題。
Michael：Very well. So, where do you see yourself in five or ten years?

Vicky：If I am lucky enough to have this position, I will endeavor to know whatever a sales representative should know and hopefully move into a sales management position step by step.

Michael：When can you start?

Vicky：Next Monday would be good for me.

說明：這個句型是用來說明自己在工作後的願景，也可以說成：
(1) If I have the honor to be hired as a...（如果我有這榮幸受雇為...）
(2) I will... if I can be a... in this company.（我會...如果我可以成為公司的...。）
