．Have you heard the one about …? 中的 The one 指的是 the joke。這個字串是用來介紹笑話。
．It's about this …. 是用來談論電影或書本的內容。

所以就像我剛才說的，……。
例 So as I was saying, he looked through the guy's wallet.
所以就像我剛才說的，他檢查一遍那個人的皮夾。

所以就像我剛才說的，屋頂上面變得愈來愈冷。
•Where was I? Oh yes, ….
我說到哪兒了？喔，對了，……。
例 Where was I? Oh yes, he looked through the wallet and guess what he found?
我說到哪兒了？喔，對了，他檢查了一遍那個皮夾，猜猜他找到什麼？
