Subject: Any chance you'll reconsider?
Dear Joseph,
I just heard from Arthur Wu that you're planning to leave the company. I wish you'd reconsider your resignation. I can understand your reasons for wanting to leave, but I hope you'll give some more thought to staying on, at least until the end of the year. Think of the benefits of staying with the company. For example, you're on target for the highest bonus bracket again this year. Would you consider staying on in a part-time capacity? We could always consider an arrangement where you work half days or come in two or three days a week. How do these options sound to you?
You are a high-value employee of this company. I hope you'll decide to stay. Please stop by my office whenever you have time so we can discuss this.
