(★ 聽對話內容) 本週話題焦點:籌備新進人員面試(預訂安排面試場次) The Fine Gadgets Company is expanding, and Mike and Janice, the human resources managers, are planning to hire new staff to fill the new positions. They are having a quick meeting before they both start to interview the many applicants who have come in for an interview. |
Mike: How many interviews do you have scheduled for today? Janice: Let me see... I have three in the morning and six in the afternoon. How about you? Mike: I have four this morning and seven later on in the afternoon. Janice: We'll both have our hands full this week! Our deadline is Monday, so we'll have to make our final decisions by the end of the week. Mike: Yeah, I know. My schedule is totally full. I've received so many resumes and CVs, and I've had a really difficult time deciding which applicants I wanted to interview. Janice: I understand what you mean. We're in the same boat! Mike: How many did you receive? Janice: I received about twenty-five by mail and another fifteen by e-mail. That's not to mention the old ones that I've kept on file. Mike: Well, I guess we've got our work cut out for us. Time to get a large cup of Joe...it's going to be a long day. Janice: Yeah, a long day and a long week! Have a nice day. Mike: You, too. Don't work too hard! We'll both have our hands full this week! He has his hands full taking care of his flower business. It's good that you try to make your work perfect, but you should keep an eye on the deadline, too. That's not to mention the old ones that I've kept on file. Jeff can run very fast, not to mention his brother Jack, who can run like the wind. 5. get one's work cut out 有很困難的工作要做 例:I guess we've got our work cut out for us. He is asked to repair the five-hundred-year-old mansion, so he's got his work cut out for him.
