Dave: Same here. She's got to be 1)worldly. I can't stand people who aren't well-traveled.
Tasha: No kidding. It drives me nuts to have to teach people about all the places I've been like it's the Discovery Channel.
Dave: That's for sure! No one gets me, unless they've lived overseas for a long time too.
Tasha: Yeah. That's what marriage is about, too － understanding.
Dave: And having things in common. We've got to be able to enjoy what each other likes. I'll have to live with the woman first.
Tasha: But they say people who 2)cohabitate first tend to get divorced easier.
Dave: It may be harder to make that final commitment after living together.

塔莎：沒錯。如果要像探索頻道那樣跟人家說我去過的地方，我會發瘋。
戴夫：那是一定的！沒在海外長住過的人是無法了解我的。
塔莎：對，婚姻不就是那麼回事──互相了解。
戴夫：還有兩人要有共通點。我們必須欣賞彼此的興趣。首先我必須和那個女人住在一起。
塔莎：但人家說先同居的人比較容易離婚。
戴夫：住在一起後，或許比較難做出最終的承諾。 |
