Where've they gone ? 他們上哪兒去了？
Colorful hippies made the 60s famous by 1)shunning society's 2)norms and sticking flowers in 3)gun barrels. The 70s brought the birth of disco and it's 4)flashy outfits and platform shoes. Then came the 80s when yuppies showed there's so much more to life, namely cocaine and 5)decadence. Now, decades later, where are all the hippies, disco freaks and yuppies? To be sure, there are some of each niche still around, unchanged, today. Although most have changed with the times, they have left their marks on society. The hippies paved the way for the environmental movement of today, just as disco dancers showed us individualism and, perhaps, left us with a taste for electronic music. And the yuppies? An overload of consumerism may be their most obvious legacy.
多彩多姿的嬉皮以迴避社會規範和在槍管插鮮花，讓六○年代名留青史。七○年代則誕生了迪斯可和它閃亮俗豔的服裝及平底鞋。然後八○年代接踵而至，雅痞人士告訴我們人生還有更多事物，也就是古柯鹼和墮落。如今，數十年過後，那些嬉皮、迪斯可舞棍和雅痞上哪兒去了呢？當然，這三種人士如今仍存在於我們的周遭，未曾改變。嬉皮為今日的環保運動鋪路，迪斯可舞者則為我們示範了個人主義，或許也培養出我們對電子音樂的喜好。至於雅痞呢？變本加厲的消費者保護主義或許就是他們最顯著的遺愛。 |
