The Old Man and Death 負負不得正

•小小啟發：
憤怒、沮喪時所許的願望，往往會令人後悔。有負面情緒，與其釋放出負面的願望出來，不如多呼吸。
•故事內容：
一位年老的勞動者因為上了年紀以及多年來的勞動駝著背在森林收集木枝（An old labourer, bent double with age and toil, was gathering sticks in a forest.）。最後，他因為太疲倦也太絕望了 （At last he grew so tired and hopeless），遂把丟下一綑綑的木枝 （that he threw down the bundle of sticks,），大喊 （and cried out:）：「我受不了這樣的生命狀態了 （I cannot bear this life any longer.），唉，我希望死神能夠降臨奪走我的生命！（Ah, I wish Death would only come and take me!）」
他一這麼說 （As he spoke），材瘦如骨的死神出現了，問他 （Death, a grisly skeleton, appeared and said to him）：「人阿，你有什麼願望 （What wouldst thou, Mortal?）？我聽到你的呼喚 （I heard thee call me.）。」
「是的，先生 （Please, sir,）」，這位樵夫回應 （replied the woodcutter），「能不能請您幫我把這一綑木枝抬到我的肩膀上 （would you kindly help me to lift this faggot of sticks on to my shoulder?）？」
當願望被實現的時候，我們常會感到遺憾呢 （We would often be sorry if our wishes were gratified）。

An old labourer, bent double with age and toil, was gathering sticks in a forest. At last he grew so tired and hopeless that he threw down the bundle of sticks, and cried out: "I cannot bear this life any longer. Ah, I wish Death would only come and take
me!"
As he spoke, Death, a grisly skeleton, appeared and said to him: "What wouldst thou, Mortal? I heard thee call me."
"Please, sir," replied the woodcutter, "would you kindly help me to lift this faggot of sticks on to my shoulder?"
